Founded by Sayali Kulkarni, a physiotherapist turned entrepreneur, Sumaya is a brand born out of pure passion for India’s timeless weaves. Her travels across the country—from the bylanes of Banaras to the deserts of Gujarat and the weaving clusters of South India—opened her eyes to the beauty of handlooms and the hardships of the artisans behind them.
Determined to preserve this dying art, she created Sumaya: a space for authentic, pure fabrics, sarees, and curated suit sets that bring together the craftsmanship of different regions into one unique ensemble. Each piece is carefully handpicked, ensuring that no two are ever the same.
